This weekend I gave my testimony for all three services at my church. It's difficult to condense your life from the age of 9 to 43 into 8 minutes. But, I did it. What an awesome opportunity! I wasn't even nervous. I felt God had empowered me for this moment.
Saturday night service was completely annointed and extremely powerful. After I left the stage and took my place in my seat, a woman behind me put her arms around me and kissed me on the cheek. She whispered, "Thank you for that. You have helped my daughter tonight."
After that same service as I was standing in the lobby, I had a young woman approach me who I had never seen at Hope before. She said she found our church through the phone book and felt led there that night. She had tears in her eyes as she said she knew she was meant to hear my story. We had shared many of the same circumstances in our lives. We exchanged phone numbers and she wants to know more about how I overcame these events in my life.
Sunday services were just as annointed as I received many hugs and "thank you for having the courage to give that testimony" from people with whom I had never spoken to. It's crazy how he uses a broken vessel like me to fill up those who surrounded me today!
God does make these appointments for us. I am so glad I didn't miss his call.
If you'd like to read the testimony I gave, I have posted it in the section under "My Other Writings."
