I believe that all of us have these divine appointments. But, what do they look like? Maybe it's that chance meeting with someone who crossed your path and your first though afterward was "What was that about?" Or, maybe it's finally meeting someone who has been right within your reach all the time, but, the circumstances were never right for you to meet. Then one day you finally do and you begin to understand.
These are God's divine appointments. What looks like coincidence never really is because everything that happens must pass through God's hands first. Some people are in our lives for a moment...some for a season...some for a lifetime. But, they are all placed there by God. And He wants us to use our life experiences, our gifts, our talents, our wounds to serve those He has placed there.
These moments create such adventure in my life and makes me want to discover more and more. I receive such pure joy and am humbled by the knowledge that God chooses to use a broken vessel like me to be a part of someone else's healing. When I let him guide the relationship I learn so much--about myself and about God.
But, it works the other way too. I have been some else's divine appointment. And through those experiences, I have been thankful that the person ministering to me listened to God and kept her appointment as well.
This kind of sense takes practice and you must be in tune with all that surrounds you. It will require a real and deep relationship with Christ to know when he's leading you to someone. So, the next time you feel a tug, what choice will you make that might change the course of your life or someone else's life? I challenge you to open your heart and mind to those God has directed your way.
You may never know the full impact you have on another's life until you face eternity. There our divine appointments will be fully revealed.
